2025 September “Journey to Abstraction “ – Daphne Gooley & Anne Rogan

Artist Stament – Daphne Gooly

My work in this joint exhibition is based on photos and drawings that I made when

I first arrived in Australia of differential weathering of beachside rocks. Originally, I used the images in paintings, but in the 1980 ‘s printmaking became my preferred medium and I produced a series of prints, some of which are  included in this exhibition.

I have recently re-visited this theme to extend the ideas from the original drawings. The prints are mostly multilayered monoprints with the addition in some cases  of Lino cuts and other media, and are hand printed with oil-based printing inks.

Artists Statement – Anne Rogan

This work focuses essentially on the natural world, the study of geological formations in ocks and seashells which hold many shapes and forms which attract me to capture them, mainly in oil paint, or watercolour.
I am happiest while I am painting, the love of painting, creating new work and to explore contemporary painting style is a challenge to my artwork generally, and it is the driver for me to produce balanced work, to feel it is resolved until I am happy with the result.

April 2025 Arty Textiles – Trish Morrison

These artworks are created from books such as “The History of Ornamentation”, “The Sari to Sarong” and adaptations of black and white line art.
Once I have found myinspiration, I translate them on to coloured cardboard using wax crayon and acrylic paints.
My artwork started at a studio on my father’s property in Breadalbane. I moved into Goulburn and continued my designs in a studio at home. This will be my third exhibition – the other two being at the Goulburn Club.
